Reconnecting With Your Core Values

Read the accompanying blog post: Who Am I Now?

Our core values evolve over time, shaped by our life experiences. This exercise helps you reconnect with these values and cultivate a stronger sense of purpose. Answer the following questions:

  1. What activities or moments in your life made you feel most fulfilled and aligned? Describe the situation and what made it feel so good. What values might have been at play?

  2. Think about a time you felt frustrated or upset. What was the situation? Looking back, do you think one of your core values might have been challenged or ignored? If so, which one?

  3. Brainstorm 5-10 words that you feel genuinely describe who you are at your core right now. Don't overthink it – just jot down the words that come to mind.

  4. From the list you created in the previous question, which 3-5 words feel most essential to you? These are likely your strongest core values.

  5. How well do you feel your current life (career, relationships, daily activities) reflects these top core values? Are there any areas where you feel a disconnect?

  6. Looking ahead, how might understanding your core values influence the choices you make and the direction you want to take your life?

  7. Optional: If you're feeling creative, you can also create a mini vision board representing your top core values using images or words.

Take your time with these reflections. There are no right or wrong answers – this is about your personal journey of self-discovery!
