1. Identify a Situation: Think about a recent or recurring situation where you felt your needs as an introvert weren't fully understood or respected by family or friends.

2. Choose One Need to Communicate: Select one specific need you'd like to express. This could be needing advance notice for plans, requiring downtime after social events, or preferring quieter activities.

3. Plan Your Communication: Think about how you can communicate this need kindly and clearly. You could:

  • Have a direct, calm conversation.

  • Send a thoughtful text or email.

  • Mention it casually in conversation.

4. Communicate: Make an effort to communicate this need to the person involved. For example, you might say, 'Hey, just so you know, I really appreciate having a bit of notice before get-togethers so I can mentally prepare,' or 'After we hang out, I usually need some quiet time to recharge.'

5. Reflect: How did the conversation go? How did you feel advocating for your needs? What was the other person's reaction?
